While summer style is fabulous and gives you the opportunity to experiment it can totally be stressful too. I really struggle with finding the right outfit for summer nights without relying on dresses and skirts. Don’t get me wrong, I love getting my legs out in the sun but when the evening hits sometimes you just need to cover up a little. You know a girl needs her skinny jeans and whats better for a night out with the girls.
Firstly, lets talk about this top. I am all over the Bardot style this season, and nothing screams summer more than a lace Bardot crop top. There is something super flattering about the sixties neckline, it’s very feminine and showing off the collarbones is a little sexy. While it works perfectly for this look, it also looks amazing with a pair of shorts for a casual daytime look.
However, with jeans it manages to be a little more dressy than shorts but not as formal as a skirt. This is also one of the pieces I’ll also say is a must-have, everyone should own a pair of black high-waisted skinny jeans. Due to the waist they pull you in, in all the right places. The slither of midriff on show above the jeans just accentuates your waist more. This is a great tip if you are like me and have a small waist but larger hips and thighs. I’m talking to you all the pear shapes out there!
One thing I always have to have during the summer months is a pair of sunglasses permanently on my face. My collection of sunglasses is ever-growing but these have to be one of my current favourites. The wayfarer is such a classic shape for Ray Ban (I should know I have three pairs of this style) but there is something about the tortoise print that I love.
I know you are probably wondering about this gorgeous choker and honestly I can understand why. We all know I adore a choker and this one is so delicate with it’s lace detail. Obviously it matches with the colour of the jean, but more importantly the material coincides with the top. It’s hard to see but there are also small embellished stones decorating it, just giving it a little more interest. With attention being drawn to the neck it works perfectly with the neckline of the top too.
Lastly, we have to talk about the other major match this outfit has. These stunning heels from Dune London, in my opinion these cherry red stilettos just complete the outfit. When you wear vibrant colours it’s best to spread them out, by doing this it draws attention from the top to the bottom while pulling the whole look together.
