STYLING: CROCHET AWAY
Styling crochet was something I had never put much thought into. In all honesty, I found the fabric to be a bit ‘twee’ for my own style. In other words, I wasn’t too impressed in the vintage style . However, when I stumbled over the right piece I was completely sold.
If you would have told me that we would be having this much
A few months ago, I was obsessing over Parisian styling and found myself knee deep in this blogger’s

The embellished blouse is everything I wished it to be, intricately patterned with frilled detailing and a ruffled neckline. The only issue is that it is literally just a crochet top and you need to wear something underneath it. Since the weather is so sporadic, I chose a black vest. However, I think a white one would be a better match. Or even a white lace bra if going out in the evenings or the temperature rises a bit.
As per usual, the monochrome pairing came out in force, I slipped on my old Jamie jeans from Topshop. I am having some issues with these jeans. I’ve been buying Jamie jeans for around two years now and they have been my trusty denim essential. Although, one thing I just can’t let deal with is the length. They are so short, a lot of people I know have this issue too and it’s just such a let down when the rest of the quality is unreal. I just find that when I stand up I’m suddenly transported back to 2004 where three-quarter length trousers were a thing.

Accessory wise, I went in relatively hard. To start I wanted to frame this ruffled neckline with a pendant. The one I am wearing was part of a two-piece pack that I wear all the time. I also cinched my waistline in with this cult Gucci dupe belt from River Island. Therefore, the oversized top actually becomes form-fitting. The sunglasses are just a cat-eye pair I picked up at Pretty Little Thing. I love the tortoiseshell pattern and I felt like it just gave this look a bit of a vintage finish.
I’m excited to try playing around with this top and experimenting with other textures, plus getting my hands on some normal length jeans. Ideally, this look is a bit of a desk-to-drinks with the girls and I can really see this top transitioning into an all-year-round piece.
